Nina Kapitanski, MD, QME is board-certified in psychiatry and practices in Palo Alto, CA. She is available for PQMEs, AMEs or Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) at several locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
DR. Kapitanski BIO:
Dr. Nina Kapitanski was drawn to the field of medicine at a young age, captivated by the intricacies of the human mind and its resilience. This motivated her to pursue education at the rigorous Thomas Haider Program in Biomedical Sciences, where she was selected into one of the coveted 24 spots (out of 450 applicants) to enter the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine program.
During medical school training, her desire to become a psychiatrist was fueled by great mentorship and an ever growing field. She explored the link between depression and quality of life, publishing articles in the Harvard Review of Psychiatry journal.
Upon completion of the UCLA Medical School, Dr. Kapitanski continued her medical training at Stanford University Hospital. This entailed a completion of an intern year and three years of residency training.
Beyond excellent training that allows Dr. Kapitanski to treat a diverse group of adult patients with a wide range of ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds as well as sexual orientations, she pursued specialized training at the Stanford Department of Psychiatry in the fields of women’s mental health and psychotherapy for couples and families. Given her training in Palo Alto, CA, Dr. Kapitanski, also has had the unique experience of working with professionals in the fields of Academia and Information Technology Industry. She also spent three years facilitating groups for women in science and engineering at Stanford University.
