BIO

Brian Barlow, MD, QME, received Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the United States Naval Academy graduating with distinction and highest honors, and earned a Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery, and was chief resident at Naval Medical Center, San Diego. Dr. Barlow went on to become the chief fellow during fellowship in adult reconstruction and joint replacement at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where he also completed a preceptorship in hip arthroscopy.



Dr. Barlow is currently the director of orthopedic research at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, where he oversees 18 orthopedic surgeons, 25 orthopedic surgery residents, 6 physician assistants, 1 research coordinator, and 1 full-time research assistant. Dr. Barlow is also an assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He belongs to numerous professional associations and societies and has an extensive portfolio of books, publications, presentations, honors, and awards.



Dr. Barlow is medically licensed in the states of: Arizona, California, Nebraska, New York, and Oregon.
