Dr. Ellis Bio:
Dr. Jonathan Ellis graduated from Stanford University in 1978 with a B.S. in Biology and Honors in Humanities. He obtained his M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1982, then moved to Los Angeles where he completed a three-year Internal Medicine Residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was selected as Chief Resident, a one-year teaching position in which he supervised training of Internal Medicine Residents. He then completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the UCLA Integrated Program in Digestive Diseases and Nutrition. Since completing his fellowship, he has been practicing gastroenterology in the Los Angeles and Beverly Hills area.
Dr. Ellis holds lifetime board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He holds the titles of Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA Geffen School of Medicine and Attending Physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Ellis is active on hospital committees both at Cedars-Sinai and at UCLA. He has been honored to be included over the years in Castle Connolly’s America’s Top Doctors, Consumer Research Council’s America’s Top Physicians and America’s Top Gastroenterologists, Best Doctors in America, Los Angeles Super Doctors, and Patients’ Choice Award. Dr. Ellis was named one of the two best Gastroenterologists in the Los Angeles area by L.A. Confidential Magazine.
